Mechanism of Action

Tα1 acts on toll-like receptors (TLR-2, TLR-9) to stimulate maturation of dendritic cells and drives differentiation of naive T-cells toward Th1 phenotype. It increases production of interferon-γ and IL-2 while reducing Th2-associated cytokines.

Dosage

Administration & Timing

Subcutaneous (SC) injection into abdominal or gluteal subcutaneous tissue, typically 1–2× weekly in immunomodulation research. Independent of food timing.

Dosage Guidelines

Acute immune challenge models900 mcg daily for 7 days, then taper

4–12 weeks depending on indication; chronic protocols extend to 6 months.

Notes

Thymosin Alpha-1 (Zadaxin® in approved markets) is administered immediately after reconstitution when feasible. A 900 mcg dose equals 18 units on a U-100 syringe.
