Mechanism of Action
Humanin binds to the tri-functional receptor complex consisting of CNTFR, IL-27Rα, and gp130, activating JAK2/STAT3 signaling and promoting cell survival. It also directly inhibits BAX, a pro-apoptotic protein, and interacts with cytoplasmic IGFBP-3 to modulate IGF-1 bioavailability.
